Course curriculum includes:

• pack management
• dog communication and body language
• aggression in all its forms: what it means, how to prevent it,  and what to do about it
  safety and fight protocols
• basic training: build reliable sits, recalls, and polite leash behavior
• client and dog screening
  public relations
• small business practices: liability protection, marketing, increasing profits, and legalizing your business

Lecture, video analysis, demos, hands-on exercises, and fieldtrips with a pack will further your insight into the body language and interactions of dogs, leaving you better able to troubleshoot individual and group problems and to implement strategies that maximize your enjoyment and minimize your risk.
  
As part of the course students will receive their Dog First Aid Certification.
  
Students may take an optional written exam and hands-on practicum for a Certificate in Dog Walking (CDW).

There are two ways to take the course:

• 4 day classroom intensive in the California Bay Area
• Remote Dog Walking Academy
  10 week telecourse: take it at home—or from anywhere in the world
  The Dog Walking Academy telecourse is designed for those who are unable to join us in person in California. This unique format includes weekly 90-minute phone classes, plus guided video instruction and activities you complete between class sessions.
  Remote students may seek certification by taking the written exam and submitting video tape of a walking session along with written commentary.
