Founder Bio

Veronica Boutelle, MA, CTC, began her professional life as an educator before switching careers to work with dogs. A San Francisco SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers valedictorian, Veronica ran a successful training and walking business and trained for the SF/SPCA before becoming their Director of Behavior & Training. There she drew from her education, training, and business experience to support a staff of trainers, academy students, and interns in their quests for skills development, program design, and professional growth. Returning to the private sector, Veronica recognized the need for an organization that would support dog care professionals. The result is dogTEC. In addition to teaching continuing education classes and working one-on-one with dog professionals, Veronica writes the column “From the Business End of the Leash” for the APDT Chronicle of the Dog and gives business and career talks to dog pros and dog training schools across the country.
